Week of July 24th, 2013

RELIGION AND POLITICS

So, Catholic Schools divide us?  Really?  Like Republicans divide Democrats or vice-versa?  Like rich people divide poor people?  Like environmentalists divide industrialists?  Well, our President thinks that Christian schools divide society (notice how he doesn't mention Muslim or Buddhist or anyone else).  Oh, the inconsistency of thought...

POPE FRANCIS

It wasn't anything against Beethoven, but the Pope had some work that had to get done.  The message was clear:  if you need to work, you need to work.

BOY SCOUTS, GIRLS SCOUTS

The Girl Scouts of America are going through some tough times.  Ever since their radical leaders inaugurated a program that eliminates God, Family and Traditional values, the Girl Scouts have lost a ton of families, members, support and money.  You won't hear about it, but facts speak louder than fiction.  Call me a prophet, but I have a feeling the Boys Scouts of America will go through something very similiar...and soon.

CONVERSIONS

To the shock of many, a Presbyterian minister and scholar recently converted to Catholicism.

End of the Week Bedtime Reads

CONVERSION STORIES

Brought up by an "intelletual" atheist father and a "practical" atheist mother, Sister Juliana saw the light of faith the logical way:  by reflecting on life.

ABORTION AND POLITICS

Who said abortion and politics shouldn't mix?  Liberals?  But they combine the two all the time to get elected.  Now Chelsea is getting in the mix of things for her mother's bid for President.  How?  By mixing abortion with politics.

SCIENCE AND RELIGION

Which came first, God or the scientist?  If you're still not sure, then let me help you by asking a similiar question:  Which came first, the leaf or the solar panel?   If you still don't know, then read this article.  It will help you to put things in perspective.  Scientists do well very little except two things:  (1) explain things as if they had created them (that is, take all the credit), and (2) try to imitate the Creator by creating little gadgets.  I wouldn't even say they've made life easier or safer.

Monday Morning Picks

GOLF AND GOD

PHil Mickelson is a star on the golf course and also a star at home.  He knows what is important in life.  He get's it and is encouraging others to "just do it."

CONVERSIONS:  DARWIN IS A CATHOLIC!!!

Yep, that's right.  The beautiful great-great-great granddaughter of Charles Darwin just broke the chains of evolution with her recent re-conversion to Catholicism.  She credits Richard Dawkins's "God Delusion" for paving the way.  I knew it.  The best way to get people back into the Church is for them to read the works of atheists!

THE POPE AND HARLEY...DAVIDSON?

The Pope found some time to bless hundreds of thousands of Harley-Davidson bikers and bikes.  Many were "stunned" by the Pope's words and friendliness.  They should get out there more often.

One of the best ways to get your kids thinking about the faith is to share these stories with them.  You can even print them and leave them on their bed at night.

End of Week Bedtime Articles

ABORTION AND POLITICS

Nancy Pelosi was mocked by the Press Corp when she tried to justify Partial-Birth Abortions but not Dr. Gosnell's After-Birth Abortions.

CHURCH AND STATE

The Constitution protects religion and the free exercise of religion, but recent attacks by atheists have made it necessary to protect the rights of religious people in secular institutions.  In Texas, Gov. Perry signed into law the "Merry Christmas Bill".  Can you believe we need to do this, today???

...and a valedictorian's mic is silenced by big brother.  It's amazing how secularists fear Christians who pray!

News for Bedtime: Week of June 10th, 2013

PRO-LIFE NEWS

The Supreme Court has declined to get involved in a lower court's decision to prohibit the use of real images of aborted fetuses in public places where children may be in attendance.  The lower court argued that the images were detrimental to children... I guess we are now left to our imagination as to how detrimental abortions are to children.

THE NEW NEW ATHEISM

Apparently the so-called "New Atheism" is old, and it is time for a "New New Atheism"; that is, a friendlier atheism; a kinder and gentler atheism; an atheism that respects religion.  Well, all I can say is that there is nothing new with sheep in wolves clothing.

RELIGION AMONG TEENS

So many teens have been forced to reinforce the illusion that faith among teens is dwindling.  In order to reinforce this, officials must censor teens ceremonies and their speeches.  The mic may even "malfunction" if there demands are not met.  But all the intimidation in the world did not stop one brave soul from speaking out.  Watch this video and applaud!

Faith In Action Week of June 3rd

THE POPE...

On Twitter

Pope Francis continues to tweet his heart away.  But take a look at some of the vile comments that come forth from the mouths of babes (mostly atheists).  To blame the Pope for the failures of others is unacceptable.  It's called stereotyping.  It's called collective guilt.  It's called WRONG.
https://twitter.com/Pontifex

You can read all about this in today's mediatation.

On World Adoration

This past Sunday, Catholics from all over the world gathered together around the Blessed Sacrament for one hour.  The Pope asked that we pray for two special intentions:  for those suffering from war, human slavery and economic crisis and for the Catholic Church that it be free from all stains and blemish.

CONVERTS TO THE FAITH

Here's a beautiful story of a young lady who opened her eyes as well as her mind and found the truth in the Catholic Faith.
http://www.catholicherald.co.uk/commentandblogs/2013/06/03/i-converted-to-catholicism-after-being-surprised-by-what-catholics-were-actually-like/

AMERICA UNDER GOD?

America's first atheist monument may very well be going up in front of a Court building.  So what is their monument dedicated to?  Of course, the ridicule of other people's faith (Jews and Christians).  That just about sums up what atheists believe in.
http://christiannews.net/2013/06/02/americas-first-atheist-monument-to-be-displayed-outside-florida-courthouse/

Bill Maher, a militant atheist, believes the Pope may actually be an atheist!  You can read all about it below.  Now I finally understand what G.K. Chesterton meant when he wrote:  "Those who cease to believe in God do not end up believing in anything.  They end up believing anything they want."
